Specify a new password and lock a device

To protect a lost or stolen device, you can lock a device over the wireless network (either the mobile network or Wi-Fi network). When the user unlocks the device, the device prompts the user to type a password that you provide to the user.

Note: This command does not apply to iOS devices.
  1. On the menu bar, click Users.
  2. Click the name of a user account.
  3. In the Managing devices section, click Specify device password and lock.
  4. In the New device password field and Confirm the device password field, type an activation password.
  5. Click Submit.
After you finish: Send a message to the user informing them of the new device password that they are required to use to unlock the device.
