BlackBerry Internet Service Help

The email address for a BlackBerry Internet Service subscriber is no longer valid

Possible cause

If the subscriber changes information (such as a password), for an email address that was added to the BlackBerry Internet Service and does not update this information on the BlackBerry Internet Service, the email address will not be valid. The subscriber does not receive email messages from this email account until the BlackBerry Internet Service validates it.

Possible solution

Ask the subscriber to validate the email address from a browser on a computer.

  1. On the BlackBerry Internet Service website, in the left pane, click Email Accounts.
  2. Click the Invalid Mailbox icon beside an email address.
  3. If the email address cannot be validated, click OK.
  4. Change the email address information.
  5. Click Save.

Possible solution

Ask the subscriber to validate the email address from a browser on the BlackBerry smartphone.

  1. On the BlackBerry Internet Service website, click Email Accounts.
  2. Click an email address that is not valid.
  3. Click Validate.
  4. If the email address cannot be validated, click Yes.
  5. Change the email address information.
  6. Click Save.

Ask the subscriber to validate the email address from the email setup application on the smartphone.

  1. In the email setup application, from the Email Accounts screen, highlight the email address that is not valid.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Click Validate.
  4. Type the email password.
