Assigning passwords to devices
You can specify an activation password when you activate a device or specify a new device password to protect a lost or stolen device.

Security |
You must distribute the activation password to the user. If the user receives the activation password but does not activate the device, a potentially malicious user can access the activation password and assume the identity of the intended user. When a user activates a device, the activation password becomes inactive and a potentially malicious user cannot reuse it to activate another device. If a user receives an activation password, you cannot generate a new activation password for the user until the activation password expires. By default, an activation password expires after 48 hours. You can configure an activation password to expire earlier than the default time period. |
