Troubleshooting: BlackBerry Device Software
Verify that the BlackBerry Device Software update process completed
You can verify that users updated the BlackBerry® Device Software.
- In the BlackBerry Administration Service, on the BlackBerry solution management menu, expand User.
- Click Manage users.
- Search for a user account.
- In the search results, click the PIN for the user account.
- On the Device information page, in the Software section, verify that the version information in the Version field is correct.
A user cannot start the update process using the link to the application loader tool
Possible cause
The permissions for the application loader tool might not be set to shared.
Possible solution
- Connect the user's BlackBerry® device to a computer that hosts the BlackBerry Administration Service.
- At the command prompt, type \\<shared_network_drive>\Research In Motion\Apploader\loader.exe.
If the application loader tool starts, the permissions for the application loader tool are shared successfully.
